THREAD MILL CUTTER

Introduction
SPEROCUT’s Thread mills are employed to generate threads on machining centers equipped with helical interpolation capabilities. The choice between thread milling and tapping depends on the specific requirements of the customer. Thread milling is particularly advantageous for short-run jobs, especially in cases involving expensive parts where thread finish is crucial. It proves beneficial for challenging materials such as Inconel, hard steels, or titanium, as well as short-run jobs requiring taper pipe threads.
SPEROCUT’s solid carbide HSN2 coated thread mills feature helical fluting for free cutting, similar to an end mill. The Altin multi-layer coating enhances tool life significantly, enabling milling in harder materials.
